Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient healing modality that was brought to the United States in the 1970’s. It involves the insertion of single-use medical grade thin needles, intended to target specific areas of the body. The needles help facilitate blood flow, relaxes muscle tension, and enhances your body's natural battery to provide increased energy flow through acupuncture pathways. With treatments, pain can be reduced by boosting your natural pain killers and it can improve your body's overall well being. It creates an innate response to healing from the inside out.

What to expect with Acupuncture:

New Patient : 1.5 Hour Appointment

Return Patient: 1 Hour Appointment

Initial appointment is always the longest, this will allow the provider to ask the required questions and assess the reasons of your primary concerns. We will review necessary medical history, current lab reports or findings from your primary care provider.

Diagnostic Review will take place on this visit with body palpation, Orthopedic tests, and reviewing over the tongue and pulse. Insertion of single-use needles are placed specifically for you. The needles will address the primary reason you are there, while boosting your constitution so you have long lasting treatment outcomes. Needle placement usually is around 30 minutes. A treatment plan and expected outcomes will be discussed with you after the treatment.

Follow up visits are similar to the first initial visit. We review over changes, and discuss treatment outcomes. Needles will be placed for up to 30 minutes, to allow the body to fully relax, recharge and heal.

Day of treatment please wear loose clothing that can easily go above the elbows and knees; being able to access the abdomen, specifically for digestive complaints or reproductive health is important. Before your treatment, come to your appointment with some food and water in your body. Please limit large consumptions of sugar, fatty foods, caffeine and alcohol.

After treatment it is important to hydrate and rest. It is normal to feel relaxed and tired. If you are being treated for pain, soreness for 24-48 hours is normal. Try to avoid strenuous exercise after the treatment. Please refrain from eating a poor diet high in sugar, fats, or consuming alcohol.
